New Delhi, Delhi, India, Thursday, June 30, 2011 -- (Business Wire India) -- EnglishEdge, premium English learning software has signed India's first Portable Language Lab deal. Meenakshi World School, Gurgaon becomes the first customer of EnglishEdge Portable Language Lab. The school bought 11 student- trainer tablets on a trolley. The tablets are pre-bundled with curriculum based EnglishEdge software.

The EnglishEdge Portable Language lab leverages technology to make learning interactive, interesting and engaging. It is an innovative model that provides multiple tablets ranging from 21 - 30 on a single trolley. The trolley comes equipped with a centralized charging unit and provides a wireless environment for the tablets. The wireless connectivity provides strong real time student-teacher interaction. Internet access opens up new channels & provides access to variety of relevant online content. This content can then be used to create engaging discussion scenarios.

Speaking about the deal, Vivek Agarwal, CEO, EnglishEdge said, "Our aim has always been to use technology to create scalable solutions that can help take English learning to the masses. Our portable language labs are a step ahead in that direction. Being portable, they reduce over dependence on infrastructure as well as on trainers, thereby increasing the reach as well as acceptance of this model. By developing India's first Portable Language Lab EnglishEdge has set the benchmark for others to follow. The first signed deal will encourage other schools & colleges to join the elite list of technology savvy institutes"

The rich, multi-media feel of EnglishEdge content makes learning exciting for students. Students feel more involved and find it easier to pick up the nuances of the language. Situational learning, video based activities and features like record-compare create an experiential learning environment. One of the key advantages of the tablet model is that students get almost 10 times more speaking time, which in turn, helps them enhance their conversational skills.
